Finally got the higher resolution images uploaded. I also took some time making an animation showing the transition from the old room to the new one. It's a large file (5.0MB so it should take a while to download).

House Update: Office Preview

After spending the entire weekend laboring on the house, the office is nearing completion. Below are some cellphone images I snapped before I left last night. I'll have the high resolution images up once I get home.

I need to give a big thanks to Ed and Jeff who helped me install the floor. I wouldn't have been able to do it without their guidance and experience. Also thanks to Emily and her mom for doing such a good job on the kitchen and to my Mom for making dinner last night.

Using photoshop and some basic filters/color matching tools I've come up with a pretty rough mockup of what the office will look like when it's done.

I hope to turn this:

into this:

The spots on the first picture are from the camera somehow. Not sure how they got there. The color I finally picked is a bit more blue than what you see there however it's pretty close.

Hope you enjoy the pics. The family room is still a work in progress. Needs one more coat of paint.
House Update: Yellow? What yellow?

After a day of ceiling painting (courtesy of Jeff), I worked into the wee hours of Saturday and again Sunday morning painting the living room and dining room. I'm happy to say that finally, there is no more yellow paint.

For those of you fortunate enough to have never seen the yellow paint in person, here is a glimpse (sorry for the low resolution) of what you were missing:

This week we plan on putting a 2nd coat of paint on those two rooms as well as two coats on the family room and guest bedroom. I'll have "after" pictures up once the 2nd coat dries.

I'm in the process of picking paint colors for the office. As Emily would have guessed, I'm looking to do a blue/grey mix with white trim. That green carpet needs to go sooner rather than later as well. Maybe I can talk Emily into some nice laminate flooring.
